![]() After a few years of self-imposed isolation, he is convinced to return to society by his friend Eiko coincidentally, Keitarou gets a job tutoring Eiko's cousin, a young girl named Yayoi. Keitarou can not only sense spirits but also attract them, an "ability" that has threatened to ruin his life. It even has a few genuinely scary moments. Finally, there is Dark Gathering, Summer's most unabashedly "horror" show. Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai 11 is, unfortunately, underwhelming, which is largely in line with the series' most recent entries. Even if it is not all that terrifying, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead has been a delight and, most likely, will be remembered as the year's best horror anime. Thankfully, Summer 2023 has tried to set things right by including a trio of horror-leaning projects.
